Our Mission

To promote awareness of the financial impact breast cancer has on families and to raise funds to provide direct financial support for basic human needs to those undergoing breast cancer treatment.

Our Story

On January 19, 1987, at the young age of 57, my mother lost her battle with breast cancer.  As a single parent of four grown children, my mother endured the financial challenges of her battle alone with no outside financial support.  It was the first time I became aware of the financial burden life-threatening diseases has on the patient, as well as the family.

Since that time, I have searched for organizations that provide direct financial support to breast cancer patients and made donations to these organizations.  Then in 2008, I realized there was more that I could be doing and I made the decision to create an event to raise funds to be donated to these organizations.  And the Wisconsin Road Run was born.......

In 2011, I made the decision to become a non-profit organization, the Miriam B. White Foundation, and received the IRS designation as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization.  This designation allows us to directly donate funds to those men and women who are undergoing breast cancer treatment.

All proceeds donated to The Miriam B. White Foundation will be used to support our mission and are tax-deductible.
